what has this country done to itself? we are self imploding on ourselves.

More and more countries are starting to hate the USA (if they weren’t already in that boat). The dollar has dropped in value compared to other currencies. Hell the damn Canadian dollar is worth more than the US buck. Plus internal to the US, we have crocks, liars, and thieves running this country (I am not talking about W or Cheney but all of them). We get more and more laws to screw with us and nothing is being done to help us. Big Business and Criminal Groups (like RIAA/MPAA) are using PACs to sway the congressmen to do things that they shouldnt.

On a very geeky geek mailing list, that we talk about everything (mostly something geek related), one person whom as far as I remember (that wont take you very far these days) said that he was thinking of becoming a card carrying Libertarian due to the damn idiots in government these days. What is scary is that I am hearing more and more of that from people on all sides on the political fence.

I am not calling for a revolt or a revolution but we need to do something. We (in my personal opinion) to slim down the federal government and push it down to the State or even to the county/township/city level. We have soo many government agencies that should never been federal. It should have always been at the state or even lower. When you commitee-ize or try to make a blanket policy that has to cover all 50 states, plus all the other places that we govern, then the rules get screwed up. What is good for people in New York is not the same as California nor Georgia. I have said this several times recently, this will be a very interesting political year next year. And what happens from now to then will be a wild ride.
