Here are the facts. Waffle House is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Waffle House accepts Cash and no other forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, and checks. I have had everything on the menu and many things that are no longer on the menu. Well as of shortly ago one of the previous facts is not longer true.

As a geek, I have visited more than my share of Waffle Houses around the country (and in Indiana they are called Waffle & Steak since some local businessman owns the rights to the name of Waffle House and his restraunts suck!). Working the really odd hours limits the restraunts that you can visit. So many years ago I started going to Waffle House in the odd hours while I was in college. The especially was true when I was working at the college. The rules have always been that it was a cash only business. Everything was cash only. Payment for the food. They paid the vendors in cash. Everything. Now of just recently they started taking credit cards/debit cards. WHAT! One of the cornerstones of the world has just been turned upside down. Waffle House is taking payments other than cash! Holy Shit!

I am glad that they are now taking credit/debit cards. That way if I forget to run by the ATM, I can still get food.
